What the term actually means

‘Held up’ isn’t just jargon you hear in boardrooms; it’s a tactical lever that can flip a project’s trajectory in minutes. Think of it as a traffic light that suddenly turns red at the exact moment you’d coast through a bottleneck. When a team feels the pause, focus sharpens, risk assessments sprint forward, and the whole workflow re‑calibrates. That pause is the hidden engine that drives smarter outcomes.

Why the pause is a profit multiplier

Here’s the deal: every time a deliverable stalls, stakeholders get forced to surface assumptions that would otherwise stay buried. A hurried launch might skip a compliance check, costing a five‑figure fine later. By inserting a ‘held up’ checkpoint, you force a moment of due‑diligence that often uncovers a hidden revenue stream. The cost of a brief delay is typically dwarfed by the savings from avoiding a downstream disaster.

Psychology behind the tactic

And here is why—human brains love novelty, but they also crave certainty. The sudden pause triggers a cognitive reset; you stop autopilot and engage executive function. It’s the difference between a runner who breezes past a hurdle and one who steadies, eyes the obstacle, then clears it cleanly. Those moments of forced reflection boost decision quality exponentially.

Real‑world example that nails it

At a fintech startup, a feature rollout was ‘held up’ by an unexpected API change. The team used the forced gap to audit data compliance, discover a duplicate billing bug, and patch it before release. The outcome? A product launch that not only avoided costly refunds but also earned an early‑bird discount from a partner. The ‘held up’ moment turned a potential setback into a strategic win.

Common pitfalls and how to dodge them

Look: if you treat the pause as a bureaucratic hurdle, you’ll just add dead weight. The key is to script the hold‑up with clear objectives—what do you need to verify, what risk must you reassess. A vague “let’s wait” invites inertia; a precise “review data encryption in 30 minutes” drives action. Keep the purpose laser‑sharp, and the downtime becomes a catalyst, not a coffin.

Embedding ‘held up’ into your workflow

One practical step: embed a ‘hold‑up trigger’ into your project management tool. When a milestone hits a risk threshold, the system automatically flags a 15‑minute hold‑up window. Teams get a notification, a checklist appears, and the clock starts. This tiny automation eliminates ambiguity, turns the pause into a repeatable habit, and scales the advantage across every project.

Takeaway, no fluff

Stop treating delays as failures; treat them as strategic pivots. Schedule a mandatory 10‑minute hold‑up before every major release, and watch the quality metrics spike. That’s the actionable advice.

Why Trap Matters

Trap selection is the unsung hero of the betting scene. A good start can mean the difference between a sprint finish and a flat out flop. The racing surface, the track circumference, the angle at the bend, all conspire to favor certain positions over others. If you’re chasing a high return, you can’t ignore the trap edge. It’s a subtle, almost instinctive advantage that seasoned punters pick up in a blink. The real trick is turning that edge into a consistent win margin, not chasing a fluke. You want your odds to line up with a steady probability curve. And that curve is shaped by the traps that most frequently break the fastest. You’re not just buying a ticket; you’re buying a micro‑strategy for each venue.

Short sentence:
Trap 1 beats.
Short sentence:
Middle traps lag.

Every track has its own quirks. A tight start at the short straight can turn a high number into a slow burn, while a wide stretch may reward a mid‑trap dog that can use the inside. The way the rails are laid out, the barrier gap, the track’s banking—all factor into a trap’s potential. When you align this knowledge with the latest race data from greyhoundtrackresults.com, you can pick the numbers that give you the edge. That’s the kind of insight that separates the hobbyist from the professional.

Birmingham

The Birmingham track’s 10‑yard straight is a beast. Trap 1 dominates because the first barrier gives a clean line up to the first bend, where most of the action gets decided. Trap 7, on the other hand, is a nightmare; the tight turn forces a slow break that rarely recovers. Traps 3 and 4 are in the sweet spot—just wide enough to avoid the inside scrape but not so far out that the dog gets stuck on the rail. The finish line is a perfect 180‑degree turn, so a clean start from Trap 2 often results in a win. In short, if you’re betting there, stick to 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Short sentence:
Birmingham is ruthless.
Short sentence:
Trap 1 wins.

Brighton

Brighton’s oval is one of the slowest in the country, which means a fast start is even more valuable. Trap 1 again comes out on top, but because the track is so wide, Trap 5 can pull ahead if the dog has a solid burst of speed. The middle traps are a mixed bag; a dog that can maintain speed over a long stretch usually finishes better from 4 or 5. If the favourite is in Trap 2, you’re in for a battle to see if it can hold its line. The bottom line: Trap 1 is the king, Trap 5 the underdog kingmaker.

Short sentence:
Brighton is slow.
Short sentence:
Speed matters.

Canterbury

Canterbury’s 8‑trap layout is notorious for the sharp turn after the first bend. Traps 1 and 2 are favoured because the inside line allows the fastest break into the corner. Trap 7 is a hard sell; the dog usually has to fight for a place. The middle traps are unpredictable. A dog that can navigate the rail will often finish strong from Trap 4. The key is watching the opening draw and the dog’s temperament. If it’s a hard‑running type, keep an eye on the outside numbers. If it’s a smooth runner, inside will win. That’s how you read the board.

Short sentence:
Canterbury is twisty.
Short sentence:
Inside wins.

East London

East London’s tight 1.1 mile track means every yard counts. Trap 1 gets the cleanest break; Trap 6 gets a rough edge. The straight is so short that a small advantage from Trap 1 can snowball into a finish. Traps 3, 4, 5 are the most neutral. A dog that can maintain momentum is vital because there’s no room for errors. Betting on traps 1, 3 or 4 is your best shot. The rest? They’re long shots.

Short sentence:
East London tight.
Short sentence:
Trap 1 king.

Kings Lynn

At Kings Lynn, the track is wide, and the bend is generous. Traps 1, 2 and 7 all have a good chance of staying clear of traffic. Traps 4 and 5 are usually the most volatile because the dog needs to either push or drop. The finish is a straight sprint, so a strong start from Trap 3 can still win if the dog is fast enough. The rule of thumb: look for the dog’s preference for the inside or outside, then pick accordingly. That’s the secret sauce for beating the odds.

Short sentence:
Kings Lynn wide.
Short sentence:
Outside favoured.

Newcastle

Newcastle’s track is a hybrid of short start and long straight. Trap 1 dominates, but Trap 7 can be a dark horse if the dog has a strong acceleration. The middle traps are the most risky because of the clash in the middle of the straight. A dog that can run wide will thrive from 5, while a slick inside will win from 1. Keep a watch on the latest race times; they reveal which trap has been most productive lately. Don’t ignore that trend; it can save you money.

Short sentence:
Newcastle mix.
Short sentence:
Watch trends.

Portsmouth

Portsmouth is a short‑bent track where a quick start is essential. Trap 1 again is the favourite because the first barrier offers a straight line into the turn. Traps 6 and 7 often struggle due to the tight bend and the need to overtake the rail. The middle traps are more balanced; a dog that can handle a bit of traffic can finish well from 4 or 5. The finish is a short sprint; so even a minor advantage from Trap 1 can be decisive. That’s the crux of the game.

Short sentence:
Portsmouth quick.
Short sentence:
Trap 1 wins.

Romford

Romford’s long straight is a classic. Traps 1, 3, and 5 are the most popular because they allow the dog to run unimpeded in the middle of the field. Traps 2 and 4 are slightly more risky because of the potential for a collision at the bend. Traps 7 and 8 are the last resort; only a dog that can overtake from the back can make a finish there. When you’re placing a bet, consider the dog’s speed versus the track’s width. The numbers that consistently produce fast times are 1 and 5.

Short sentence:
Romford wide.
Short sentence:
Inside edges.

Sheffield

Sheffield’s oval is a slow, tight circuit. Trap 1 is always the best because the inside rail offers a clean break into the first bend. Traps 4 and 5 can also be strong if the dog has a good acceleration curve. The outside traps are usually a disadvantage due to the wide turn that requires a sharp change in direction. The finish is a short straight, so any slight lead is amplified. Pick traps 1, 3 or 4, and you’ll see the money roll in.

Short sentence:
Sheffield slow.
Short sentence:
Trap 1 leads.

The Final Word

The trick is not to chase every number like a chasing dragon. Focus on the traps that match the track’s geometry and the dog’s natural style. Use the data from greyhoundtrackresults.com to spot trends. Keep an eye on the recent winning traps; they’re a sign of what’s working right now. And remember, the most profitable trap is not the same at every track. It’s a moving target, a dance of numbers and speed. Stay sharp. Keep betting on the edge that only you see.

Healing is hard. No one said it would be easy. The most difficult times are often the most important moments to push through.

During these times, whether you want to or not, you just have to get up, keep your head down, and focus on the small steps—watching your feet as you take each one forward. You will get through it. It does get easier.

There will be moments when you feel like you’ve made it out of the woods, only to find life pushing you back in. When that happens, just get up and keep moving forward. Eventually, you’ll look up to see a bright sky, feel the warmth of the sun on your face, and notice the cool breeze on your skin. In that moment, you’ll know you’ve made it.

I know it can seem endless at times, as though the struggle will go on forever. But it won’t. As long as you keep moving in the right direction and commit to doing the work, you will arrive.

And when you do, you’ll realize you were guided and protected by a force beyond your comprehension throughout the entire journey.

I often see a common struggle in my clients—those who find it difficult to fully surrender to the breath and reach emotional freedom are usually the same ones who struggle with control. They are so busy trying to manage every aspect of both their external and internal world that they remain stuck in a constant state of fight-or-flight.

They are not just resisting chaos; they are resisting discomfort. They are avoiding the natural ebb and flow of emotions—the full range of human experience that the universe has gifted us. But here’s the truth: When we suppress uncomfortable emotions like sadness, guilt, shame, or anger, they don’t just disappear. They don’t dissolve into thin air. Instead, we press pause on them, saving them for a later time—a time that never quite comes.

And what happens? These suppressed emotions accumulate. Layer upon layer, they build up until they manifest as overwhelm, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion over the smallest, most trivial moments of daily life.

I often hear people say, “I don’t have time to feel this.” But in avoiding these emotions, they are making life far more difficult. The energy it takes to suppress an emotion is far greater than the energy required to feel it, process it, and let it go.

The same is true on the other side of the emotional spectrum. When people experience joy or happiness, they cling to it, trying desperately to make it last. The moment has passed, but they hold on for dear life, wishing they could experience it over and over again.

This is the paradox of control: We either try to grip the beautiful moments so tightly that we miss their natural flow, or we push away the difficult ones, never allowing them to pass through us.

So, here’s my challenge to you:

For the next 30 days, I invite you to practice emotional presence.

    •    When you experience something beautiful, be fully present with it. Feel it. Enjoy it. Process it. And then—let it go.

    •    When you encounter discomfort, resist the urge to suppress it. Instead, pause. Allow yourself to fully feel the emotion, however uncomfortable it may be. Let it move through your body. And then—release it and return to the present moment.

Your body was never designed to hold on to emotions indefinitely. It is meant to experience life as it comes—moment by moment. When you resist what’s arising because you “don’t like it,” you’re simply saving it for later. And that “later” never comes—leading to chronic stress on your body, mind, and soul.

The more you practice this, the easier it becomes. With time, you’ll find yourself flowing through life as effortlessly as a river flows downstream—no longer resisting, no longer gripping—just being.

Are you ready to take on the challenge?

High-vibrational people lead to high-vibrational experiences. If you only surround yourself and interact with people operating on the higher vibrations of love, trust, joy, honesty, etc. You will match that vibration and attract the life experiences that come along with that.

If you only surround yourself with those who operate from the lower vibrations of anger, fear, jealousy, hate, etc. Then you will attract those life experiences.

I have been very selective of whom I surround myself with, and whom I let into my world. And as a result, my life experiences reflect that. If you are not building me up, or adding to my cup, or are neutral, then you are gone! If you are taking from me, holding me back or sucking my energy dry, then you are gone! I am done people pleasing for your benefit!

This is not to say that if you are living a life rooted in the lower vibrations, and want to honestly change and come to me for help, and to learn how to get out of the loop. I am here for you. But again, if your motive is to steal my energy or high vibration, then, sorry, but goodbyes are in order.

Match the people in your life with the life you desire to have. The rest will happen automatically.

Are you taking the pain and alchemizing it into gold? Have you zoomed out and looked at the hurt from a broader scope? Are you taking the life experience and using it as a learning experience?

There is beauty in the ability to look from the outside, looking in, just as there is beauty in the ability to look from the inside outward.

Everything in your life path is here to teach you something. If you learn the lesson, you get to level up. Each level is a higher state of consciousness and self-awareness. If you refuse the lesson, or do not learn from it, the Universe will continue to send you the same lesson over and over again until it is learned.

It may be in a different form, but it will be the same lesson. It could be attracting the same type of toxic relationship. It may be the same type of dead end job that you are miserable at. It could be the same type of friend continuing to take advantage of your kind nature for not setting healthy boundaries.

Whatever it is,…. it will continue to manifest itself until it is learned. Make sure that whatever negative or toxic cycle you are stuck in that you take the time to process, learn, and integrate. There is a whole new way of positive living in the classroom down the hall. But remember school is never out and you never graduate, but instead always get to constantly become a better version of yourself.

Love and light! ❤✨

I LOVE the ability to look inward

Whenever I feel that I am resistant to someone, something or situation, and am holding on to tightly to it, I know with AWARENESS that it is time to let that thing go.

Whenever I feel stress, anxiety, or drama in my life, It is a result of me not being able to let go of that thing. Not being able to let go is an inner resistance within myself where I am struggling by either pulling, or pushing on a door that is blocking me .
But where do I find the key to unlock the door?

The answer to that question, is……
That the key is within you, you are the key to unlock that door.
There are various ways that you can gain access to the key, Prayer, meditation, Breathwork, Life coaching, therapy, etc.

Once you have gain access to the key. It’s as simple as making a DECISION to put it in the lock, THE WILLINGNESS to turn it and THE ACTION to open the door. Even if the door only cracks a little. That is all you need to let go and start the healing process.
*Please contact me if you are struggling with any of these issues.

Breathwork

Breathwork is a general term used for several different forms of controlled and conscious breathing. There are many different styles and techniques that can help in many areas of life such as mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual. Breathwork is known to regulate your nervous system to help relieve stress, anxiety, fears and process emotions.

How can Breathwork help gynecological cancer patients?

In all stages of the cancer process including testing, diagnosis, treatment, recovery, follow up care, etc, breathwork can help. By using the breath to cope with the anxiety, fear, pain, and daily struggles of a cancer diagnosis, we can help overcome the thoughts, emotions and feelings that come with the journey.

Below is a video from Dr. Andrew Weil MD on breathwork and some of its medical applications.

There was a time in my life that my house was a disorganized mess, my car was a disorganized mess, and my life was a disorganized mess. At that time, I never realized how easy it was to get re-organized and get uncluttered, and how these external things would translate to me internally.

The way we live our life externally, is a direct reflection of how we feel internally. If your life on the outside is messy, unorganized, and fraught with anxiety, stress, and turmoil,  then this is a direct reflection of how we feel on the inside. With small steps you can change your external world, and intern live a better internal life. It all starts with baby steps. Changing one small habit or routine at a time. This will eventually snowball into an uncluttered external life. And as a result, you will feel freer and clearer on the inside,

But where do I start?

Start with making a small list every morning of little things you’d like to accomplish. or, are already doing. Such as brush your teeth, take a shower, get dressed for work, make yourself breakfast, make your bed, etc.

It is scientifically proven that when you cross things off a list, your body gives yourself a small hit of dopamine, the reward and pleasure center of the brain. When you start with crossing off things on the list, such as brushing your teeth, taking a shower, etc., your brain gets rewarded as you complete these tasks and cross them off your list.  Then your rewarded brain begs you, what’s next?  Where can I get my next reward?

After crossing off three or four things that you’re already doing, you automatically want to do another thing to get that dopamine reward. So, after the four or five things that you already do in the morning, add a few things that you don’t do every morning that you know will improve and organize your life.

Such as put the dishes in the dishwasher after I’m done eating breakfast. Do this one thing every morning for a few days. Then add another thing that you would like to get organized about. And do that one for a few days and cross off your list. Try this for 30 days. It’s proven that it takes 30 days to create a new habit. Eventually, these small changes will snowball into an external  uncluttered life, and as a result, you will start feeling different on the inside. Freer, clearer, less anxious and stressed, and a quicker ability to get out of your own way. (for any of you that try this, please try it for a month and leave a comment. )
